The short version: this is a reading site. It does not have accounts, carts or logins, and it does not sell anything about you to anyone.

What is collected

• Basic server logs. Like nearly every website, the host records requests — the page asked for, a timestamp, a truncated IP address, the browser string. These are used to keep the site running and to see which pages are read.
• Aggregate analytics. If analytics are running, they are configured to report totals and trends, not individuals, and not to build advertising profiles.
• Anything you send us. If you write to the contact address, we keep your message and address for as long as it takes to answer it and to keep a record of a correction.

What is not done

Your data is not sold, rented or traded. It is not used to build an advertising profile. There is no newsletter sign-up harvesting addresses in the background, and no third-party advertising network embedded in these pages.

Cookies

The site uses no cookies of its own for tracking. Web fonts are loaded from a third-party font service, which means your browser makes a request to that service when a page loads. Blocking it will change how the pages look but not what they say.

Opting out

You can block scripts and fonts in your browser, or use its do-not-track and private browsing settings; the site works without them. To have any correspondence deleted from our inbox, write to editor@poolensplay.com and say so — no explanation is needed.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version replaces this page and the review date below is updated.
